The Pat McGee Band returned to Jammin Java in full force to meet, greet, jam, and show a great time to all attending in honor of Pat’s support of Adopt a Family; a charitable organization who assists parents struggling to provide a Christmas celebration for their children. It was definitely an all star band of 8 on the JJ stage and included Jonathan Bryan Williams on piano, Michael Ghegan on saxophone and keys, Patrick McAloon on guitar, mandolin and vocals, Brian Shanley on drums, Steve Bentz on bass, Eddie Hartness (Eddie from Ohio) on the all-inclusive bongos and very special guest Jeff Pevar (Ray Charles, CSN, Joe Cocker, Phil Lesh, Marc Cohn and more ) on guitar.
Pat treated the crowd to a couple of new tunes planned for his up coming album. Safe to say the crowd really enjoyed them.
Some had not yet heard of Jeff Pevar (including myself) but he left his mark with some fabulous guitar playing. Apparently Jeff has had a long and exciting career playing with many well known artists in the music industry. Check out his Wiki page HERE. You’ll be blown away. Its always a treat to see such fine artists performing in my own back yard at JJ.
Also joining Pat was long time PMBer Michael Geghan who has been playing abroad for the last couple of years. Great to see him back up on stage.
Jeff brought along his high school buddy, Gary Segal, up from Asheville NC to jump in on Harmonica. Gary was fabulous. I got a chance to talk with him a bit outside JJ. Apparently Jeff was a stud on guitar back in high school as well. The photobomber on the right is none other than Steve Bentz who stepped out of the shadows long enough for me to capture this image. Whether playing with Pat, Tony Lucca, Michael Tolcher, or a variety of many other artists, Steve is always a fan favorite.
This young lady seemed smitten with Pat from the start. An artist for all ages. When is the children’s album coming out Pat?
Uh….could we get a spot light back there on Eddie. Please?
Yes, he was that good!
Brian Shanley of Honor by August fame in the back of the tight stage and keeping the beat all night long.
Earlier in the evening Mr. Patrick McAloon when toe to toe in a musical exchange with Jonny Williams to open up the show.
Jonny Williams with assistance from Jeff. Stay tuned for Jonny’s new and upcoming album this winter.
Pat, happy to have Michael right back in there.
